Can Mocha Make New Frames?

Nuke has a feature called Smart Vectors, which seems very similar to features in Mocha Pro. They use it primarily for tracking and warping decals, like creating wounds or covering actor’s tattoos.

In this youtube video, an artist is restoring two missing frames from a movie. He uses Nuke’s smart vectors to warp adjacent frames into new interestitial frames.

Is there a way to do this using Mocha, with or without using After Effects?

The closest thing we have to Smart Vectors Is our PowerMesh sub-planer tracker. So it’s not using optical flow, it’s using texture tracking.

You can use PowerMesh to stabilize a shot for paint, or use it to warp a texture or insert back into your composite.

And PowerMesh works in AE.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to point you in a direction.

Thank you,
