Failed to check for software update

I have a licensed Mocha Pro 5.6.0 running under MacOS.10.13.6. When I use
Preferences > Software Update > Check now
I get a “Failed to check for software update”
Even in case of running the current version, this seems like the wrong status reply. Or is it?

As part of the release of Mocha Pro 2019, we have currently disabled software updates. We expect to re-enable them on Thursday. In the meantime, you can download the new version from the Boris FX website.

Updating your software may fix this problem. Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again. Restart your iOS device. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
