Has anyone seen anything about Meta’s new Segment Anything project? Supposedly they open sourced the data from it. Here’s a link to a YouTube video about it.

Is there any chance this could be used in a future release of Mocha Pro?
We’ve looked over ML-driven segmentation for some time, but it falls down in a few areas that make it unviable for good-quality roto at the moment.
That’s not to say it won’t come up in the future (there is a LOT of segmentation research out there and the volume increases every day). We’re always keen to keep looking into artist-driven and computer vision-assisted workflows that find a balance between fast automation and useful, clean data.
