Hi! It’s my understanding you do not need to have Mocha installed to access the Mocha masking feature from this plugin, correct? Because when I apply BCC+Looks to a clip and click “mocha mask” literally nothing happens. Am I missing something here? The FX Editor works fine.
Monterey 12.5
M1
Final Cut 10.6.5
What version of BCC is this?
Also, double-check that Mocha hasn’t appeared behind your window.
Hi Stuart,
The Mocha window should launch from within that version of BCC+ Looks - can you please send me the bcc.log file from your system? There may be information in the log that could provide us with a clue as to why the Mocha UI is not appearing as expected. Please also provide some information about the project that you’re working with - frame size, frame rate, duration of the clip to which you applied the filter.
Thanks,
Peter.
Hi Peter. No problem. I’ve uploaded both the mocha and bcc logs for your review here:

Regarding your other questions, I’ve tried it with multiple resolutions, framerates, and durations. Nothing works.
Just installed this one yesterday, but I did install other borisfx plugins from continuum a few months back.
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for passing along the log files - I’ll send these to engineering to see if they can understand why the BCC+ Mocha GUI won’t launch.
Hi Stuart,
After engineering reviewed the logs, they said that it seems as though the correct call (from the BCC+ Looks filter) was sent to bring up the Mocha UI but that for some reason it couldn’t find Mocha. They suggested uninstalling and then reinstalling the plugin to see if that helps. Would you mind please trying that and letting us know if it helped?
Thanks,
Peter.
Now that you mention that, I do remember seeing a mocha icon in the BorisFX folder created upon my initial install of the previous plugin pack (continuum units or something) months ago. I removed it because I thought it was just another blocked feature that required activation like the other continuum plugins with the red X within FCP.
I reinstalled continuum units and now the mocha window pops up. Thank you for jogging my memory!
Awesome - glad that’s sorted. I hope you enjoy working with the filter.
Cheers,
Peter.
Hi, same problem here. Installed some months back the free looks FCPX filter, that had mocha included. worked like a charm. then i bought a mac mini pro m2 . and migrated my old mac over. now the clip i was working on with this plugin on it, makes FCPX run a transcode process and analysis process, when i click the FX Ui button or when i click the Mocha Mask UI button, and no Mocha nor FX windows pop up at all. i uninstalled all BORIS plugins with its uninstaller apps. then reinstalled it all again…same problem again, no mocha mask UI window opening up … is there an update i need to get for his new m2 processor may be? i did use the continuum FCP 16.03 verison to reinstal… (after i had to instal 16.0.0 first)… i was thinking there must be a compatibility issue here with the modern M2 chips… would anyone have a good idea how to fix this? Thanks
