Mocha Pro 2019 - Win10 - .MOV - Import?

I’m struggling to get .MOVs imported into Mocha Pro 2019 on a Windows 10 machine.

  • I’ve tired to fully install Quicktime 7.7.9
  • I’ve tried to install Quicktime Esentialls.

regardless of what clip i try to open i get…

Failed to open file ‘E:/MoralCoding/EDIT/VFX Shots/C0004.MP4’.
The file is corrupted or in an unsupported format.
Please visit the media support page: Boris FX | What do we do if we don't want to use Quicktime on Windows??

What is the best solution/work around?

What’s the compression codec you are using? Also, make sure it’s an .MOV file for troubleshooting and that it’s using a supported compression codec for your machine. Please note, the .MP4 and .MOV file types are essentially file containers, the codec is how the file is compressed and decompressed to be read.

Hi Mary,

the .MOV Codec is - H264 mpeg4 AVC Part 10 (AVC1)

For whatever reason, when I run them through MP4 via Adobe Media encoder i can import them into MochaPro. So I do have a workaround…

That’s interesting, because we should support H264 just fine. Can you send me the file for testing to maryp at borisfx dot com? I will share it with the team and see what the difference is.

sure thing. Thanks Mary.
