Do silhouette supports .mov files? If not, Why?

No.

Why?

  • Quicktime for Windows was abandoned by Apple in 2016 or so.
  • Quicktime is 32 bit only. Silhouette is 64 bit only.
  • MacOS 10.15 does not support 32 bit applications or Quicktime

We do plan on adding the Gstreamer media engine in a future Silhouette release. The Gstreamer media engine supports formats such as AVCHD and MXF, including ProRes support on Windows and Linux.
