Optics Not Showing Images

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone on the forum can help me out. I tried opening up an image in Optics, which was working fine up until now and when I did I was met with a blank screen not only it Optics but when I tried to open the image in Photoshop. Is there any reason for an issue like this to be happening. Thank you.

Can you please do the following?

  • Close Optics if it is running.
  • Make sure you’re in Finder or open a Finder folder.
  • Hold the Option key and click Go from the top menu bar.
  • Click Library.
  • Navigate to the /Preferences folder and delete all .plist files with Optics in the name.

Does this solve the problem?

That did the job. Thank you very much! Out of curiosity, what could have caused the problem and what did deleting those .plist files do exactly? Thank you again.

I am not sure what would have caused the problem, but it sounds like the Optics preferences got corrupted. The plist file is where program preferences are stored on Mac, so this just deleted the Optics prefs which were regenerated when you started Optics again.
