Paint Work in Fusion

Hi Mary,

You did a few great Tutorials on Painting in Mocha / Nuke.

(Boris FX | U.F.Oh Yeah Paint: Teaser Breakdown Video)

Could you please explain how to do paintwork like this in Fusion?

Cheers

Jörg-Mark

Hi Jörg-Mark,

I do not think there’s a version of mocha Import+ for Fusion, so you’d need to stabilize an area to paint, paint it, and destabilize it by “hand” and not by script in Fusion. Or you could write your own fusion script. Basically, you’d use mocha and track one plane at a time, stabilize that plane, put your roto paint on top, add the motion back into the plate, and comp that over the top of your frames.

Does that make sense?
Cheers,

Mary

Hi Mary,

would you use the Tracking node set to stabilise -> do the paint and then use an instance go the tracking node set to match move?

or is there a better node for the stabilisation?

Cheers

Jörg-Mark

You know, I am not sure what the best node for this technique in Fusion is, but that workflow sounds like it should work.
