Silhouette 2022.5 won't launch in AE 2022 or 2023

It launched yesterday but it decided not to launch today. I have to uninstall and go back to version 2022.

I have done deleting .plist, uninstall and reinstall 2022.5 and deactivate and reactivate license but still doesn’t work.

Can you launch Silhouette by creating a new project?

No, I tried opening previous project and creating new project. Both didn’t work.

I would try updating your graphics driver if you are on Windows.

Sorry that I didn’t include my hardware specs.

I am on a Mac Studio Ultra with 128GB RAM. Latest MacOS Ventura 13.0.1

Can you supply a download link with source footage and the AE project file so I can take a look?

it has a dummy footage. I tested with again and Silhouette_2022.0.2_2022-7-13_macOS works but not the Silhouette_2022.5.0_2022-11-22_macOS

Something is misbehaving with AE on Mac. Sorry about that. We will fix this asap, but in the meantime, you can do the following:

  • Go to /Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/BorisFX
  • Delete the Silhouette 2022.5 folder
  • In another Finder window, go to /Applications/BorisFX
  • Press and hold Command+Option and drag and drop the Silhouette 2022.5 folder to the /Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/BorisFX folder
    This creates a new folder link.
  • Start AE and you should be good to go.
