I have two license plates to paint out. I know what to do in terms of tacking and paint. I have a roto node, tacked each plate on it’s own layer. I then want to drive an auto paint for each plate, let’s call them left and right.
Is it best to have a paint node for each side, left and right? Or can I do this with one paint node? For one node, I can’t seem how to figure out to make one paint history layer use the ‘left’ tracker, and one paint history layer use the ‘right’ tracker and then auto paint. Right now, I painted the left, fed that output in to a new paint node, then painted the right.
@editstation_c1b09-2 It is normally best to use one paint node, especially if new strokes rely on previous painted ones. The workflow for your task would be to:
Paint the left license plate at frame 1.
Auto Paint the painted strokes for the left license plate through the sequence using the left tracker.
Paint the right license plate at frame 1.
Auto Paint the painted strokes for the right license plate through the sequence using the right tracker.
Thanks. If I can’t paint from frame 1, and it has to be frame 121, are you saying it’s best to start both of them on the same frame? I got it to work, so it must have been operator error as both paints were using the same tracker no matter I wanted it to do.
