Title Studio Type On effect

I’m trying to understand what the Decay parameter does in the Type On tab window.
It doesn’t seem to have any effect on the type-on result, whether it’s set to 0 or 100.
Can anyone enlighten me?

Hi, i just searched Boris’s site & Google with no results, to me Decay implies some kind of fade/deceleration type thing.
but if you create a Type on
in my pic below the first keyframe ‘Text Type On’ is 0, the one 2/3 of the way along the timeline is at 100.
Shift X is at -500, so the text comes in from the left,
Overshoot is at 300, so the text goes further than it should, then bounces back into place,
Adjusting the Decay alters how much the overshoot ‘bounces’
:man_shrugging::exploding_head::+1::joy:

Try these settings, Flat text, (I added a drop shadow, so ignore that :+1::grin:)
Adjusting the Decay determines how much the text ‘wiggles’ into place.
Text Type On 1st keyframe is 0, the one 2/3 of the way along the timeline is at 100 as it was before,

Thanks for that. I was trying it without having any overshoot, so it looks like that particular parameter is solely linked to the Overshoot parameter.
Thanks again.

:+1: Yeah i think so, i had a play & it does seem to be solely linked to the Overshoot parameter.
