To colorize an old black and white music video and render it in HD

Hi, is it possible to colorize an old black and white music video and render it in HD in Vegas Pro 17?
Thanks.

Yes, that’s possible but depending on the look that you’re after it might mean a lot of mocha masking to isolate the colorize effect to specific objects in the black and white scene. I would suggest using the BCC Tritone or BCC Colorize filters for this purpose.

To add to this, depending on the look you are after - you might need to stack multiple instances of Continuum effects, each with their own keyframed and tracked Mocha masks.

This video was created with Premiere but the general techniques are relevant for tracking & masking… each layer that you want to color or tint independently would be its own effect, so try to group common colors together. https://borisfx.com/videos/how-to-colorize-footage-using-mocha-pro-and-adobe-premiere-pro/

Hope it helps.

Thank you all, a daunting task for a rookie, it seems, I may have a go.
