Unsmooth Matte Edge Width

If I either copy my shape data into AE or render the shape out, the edge width is not as a consistent gradient in AE as it is in mocha.

I have my project set to 16bit. Changing to 32bit doesn’t make a difference.
Anyone have any idea why this is?

So i’m pretty sure that this is just how mocha produces it’s edge widths:

I’m actually throughly disappointed and surprised that a professional roto software can’t handle a linear feather gradient properly.
Is this a bug??
